The first large-scale solar thermal demonstration power station in China has been put into operation
Today,it was learned from China National Nuclear Corporation that China's first large-scale commercial photothermal demonstration power plant-the China National Nuclear Corporation Delingha 50MW photothermal demonstration project has officially been put into operation.
CGN Delingha Photothermal Demonstration Project is located on the Gobi Desert in Delingha City,Haixi Mongols Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture,Qinghai Province,covering an area of 2.46 square kilometers.The project consists of 250000 pieces of 620000 square meters of reflectors,110000 meters of vacuum collector tubes,tracking drive devices,etc.These giant mirrors,like sunflowers,can track the rotation of the sun,continuously collect and store heat,achieving 24-hour continuous and stable power generation.
Wang Zhigang,General Manager of Zhongguang Nuclear New Energy Delingha Company,introduced that the Delingha project can generate nearly 200 million kilowatt hours of electricity annually.Compared with thermal power plants of the same scale,it can save 60000 tons of standard coal and reduce emissions of carbon dioxide and other gases by 100000 tons per year,equivalent to planting 4200 acres of trees and forests.
